General Meeting

The General Meeting is the decision-making body responsible for governing the life of the EAP association.
It is during the Ordinary General Meeting, held once a year, or, if necessary, during an Extraordinary General Meeting, that important decisions regarding the association's operation are made. It is also the venue for reporting on past activities and discussing future projects.
Minutes are kept to provide evidence of the decisions made.
It should be noted that the organisation of the General Meeting and its conduct are separate from the traditional EAP Convention.
The General Meeting usually takes place the day before the Convention.

Purpose of the General Meeting

The General Meeting is the first and most important decision-making body within the association. It is the venue for making decisions affecting its future and day-to-day management. Furthermore, it represents the only body authorised to take vital actions. Indeed, it has the power to amend its bylaws, terminate its association, choose its executive members, etc. In addition to this decision-making role, the General Meeting's objective is also to keep members informed of all actions taken on behalf of the organisation and of upcoming projects.

The Legislative and Statutory Framework of the General Meeting

Although, from a legislative perspective, the 1901 Law (French law) does not require the EAP to hold general meetings, not even the constitutive meeting, it warmly recommends them. It is therefore in accordance with the recommendations of this same law that the EAP defined at its constitutional general assembly (see statutes below, art. 11), the following:
"It meets once a year, during the EAP annual Convention. The members are those designated by each organising committee that is a member of the EAP; they are divided into three categories, as defined by the internal regulations."
