Catania Opens the 2024 EAP season

The EAP opens the doors to the 2024 summer season, in Catania with international participation from Hungary, the Netherlands and Malta.

The 6th edition of EAP Sicily World, which took place on Saturday April 20, this year stopped in Catania, the capital of Etna, after visiting Palermo last year.

Two new interesting meetings records, firstly with Filippo Randazzo in the men's Long Jump with 7.84 (w+0.4) and secondly with Ernesto Pascone in the high Jump, improving his own previous meeting record,  with 2.14.

In some cases the strong head wind did not allow athletes, specially in the sprints to set better marks. It's the case in the women's 100m where local hero and meeting record holder Alessia Carpinteri won with 12.07, facing a -3.0 m/s headwind. Alessia also won the 200m in 24.58 in similar conditions (-1.3m/s).

Same bad luck in the men's 100m and 200m, both won by the Dutch Keenan Blake (21 years old)  in 11.15 (w -1.7m/s) respectively in 21.51 (w-1.8m/s).
