Indoor Amsterdam: great start of the 2023 indoor season

After two years stop, a limited budget and an early date, Saturday 7 January, Amsterdam proposed a very dense and quality meeting with over 350 participants, in Sportcentrum Ookmeer (NED).
A new meeting record has been set by Maayke Tjin A Lim on the W 60m Hurdles with a time of 8.12 (1133 pts). The previous record belonged to Sharona Bakker, 8.17,  on 22 Jan 2012).
For only 1/100, Maayke's performance is not EAP Record (8.11 still belonging to Aliuska LOPEZ, ESP, since 2005 in EAP Valladolid).
Jamie SESAY also equalled the u20 meeting record on 60m Hurdles (99cm) with a time of  7.85.
Here the promising highlights, with for sure some athletes to follow very close on their international season and later career.

On Saturday, January 7, AV Phanos organized the international EAP indoor competition in Sportcentrum Ookmeer. The international athletes and president of the EAP were already picked up on Friday and taken to their hotel and dinner was served for them on Friday evening at Phanos in the OS. For more information about the EAP circuit see: https://eap-circuit.eu/. On Saturday morning the competition started and first the sprints for the pupils took place and from 11 a.m. the U16/U18 and seniors could run the high and long jump and their 60 meters and 60 meters hurdles. Many great achievements have been made.

The day ended with sprints for the juniors.

A cash prize was available for the numbers 1, 2 and 3 in the senior women and men (based on the points collected with their performance).

Thanks to all volunteers and in particular to Jesse de Wit and (the group of) Urta Rozenstruik without whom this competition would not have been possible.
